Awards from County Championships
To round-off the success achieved by many of our County swimmers, the final British Age-group Category (BAGCAT) positions have now been announced. This is in addition to the tally of invidivual medals listed previously. BAGCAT awards are made on the basis of the best swims across a range of strokes and distance for girls under 14 and boys under 15 before they begin to specialise.
Three of our swimmers finished in the Top 8 and were awarded trophies. Adam Colyer was our highest ranked swimmer finishing 3rd overall in the 12 year old boys category. Daniel Schindler (10) was 4th in his age group and Miranda Willis placed 5th in the 11 year old girls rankings.
In addition, Michael Fernandes took the junior championship title (under 16) in the 50m freestyle and 3rd in the 100m freestyle.
The swimmers were awarded their trophies at a presentation evening held by the Hertfordshire ASA. The full BAGCAT listings have now been updated and verified and are available on the Herts ASA website www.hertsasa.org.uk/swimming/championships.php
