GOOD SWIMS AT WATFORD
Our swimmers had hardly dried off from their swims at the Club Championships when they were back in the pool on Sunday at Watford, competing in their Middle distance and 50m gala.
Despite the fact they were tired they still managed 19 personal bests and 11 County Qualifying Times, 5 of which were new- Max Mydat swum a CQT in the 50m backstroke ( his first ), Kimia Baradaran and Maddie Simmons also in the 50m backstroke with Georgina Brown and Kimia bagging their times in the gruelling 400m IM.
Georgina broke her own record in the 15 year old girls 400m freestyle.
Chloe Simmons and Molly Missah struck gold in the 400m IM and the 400m freestyle respectively. Daniel Schindler won 2 silvers in the 400m freestyle and the 50m backstroke with Lyla Basu(400m freestyle) and Georgina Brown(400m IM) bringing the silver count up to 4. Georgina (400m freestyle) and Chloe(50m backstroke) completed the medal haul with a bronze apiece.
Rebecca and Jonathan Mackett also competed with Rebecca swimming 1 pb and Jonathan 2.
Head Coach Luke Dormer said that the swimmers results reflected all the hard work they had put in to training – we now have 13 swimmers with CQT’s and a few more are very close plus 2 swimmers have gone under Regional Qualifying times and again several others are very close – keep up the hard work!
