Hertsmere Flyers Crowned Division 2 Champions!
A fine all–round team performance on Saturday secured Hertsmere Flyers Swimming Club the title of Division 2 champions of the Hertfordshire Majors League and promotion to Division 1. The team triumphed in the winners’ gala convincingly having won the first 2 rounds earlier in the year.
Last Saturday saw the team secure an impressive 12 1st places in the individual races and 6 in the relays. The team showed real depth with wins across the board in every stroke and every age group. The individual wins went to Yaron Ash (2), Adam Colyer (2), Christopher Cox (2), Michael Fernandes, Joe Gray, Rebecca Mackett, Nick Michel, Abigail Smith and Miranda Willis.
In addition Adam, Christopher and Joe all broke junior club records.
However, it was the wonderful camaraderie that inspired the whole team with every swimmer playing a part, from the youngest swimmer who participated in the junior relays to the older, experienced swimmers.
Club Captains Christopher Cox and Leanne Fernandes were presented with the shield on Saturday evening and every member of our winning squad throughout the season was awarded an individual trophy from the Herts league.
