Medals galore at Kate Lack Meet!

It was a very busy weekend for many of the Club’s swimmers with 2 of our senior boys competing in the top level Hatfield Challenge.  While many of the Club’s younger swimmers barely had time to dry off after the Peanuts gala before they were back in the water for the annual Barnet Kate Lack meet on Sunday.

Christopher Cox and Joe Gray both qualified to compete at Hatfield in freestyle events.  Whilst both boys were a little off their personal bests, they had done very well to even qualify and used the occasion to get further experience against national level swimmers.

The younger swimmers returned home from Barnet laden with medals – 37 in total, 21 of them gold!  Miranda Willis had a clean sweep with an impressive 7 golds from every event she entered (she also broke 4 junior club records).  Adam Nash and Chloe Simmons both swam into form, amassing 4 golds each; Daniel Schindler collected 3 golds and Ashley Randall, Jessica Cato and Kimia Baradaran all won a gold apiece.  The medal tally was added to with 12 silvers and 4 bronzes which were shared amongst all the above along with Maddie Simmons and Rebecca Mackett.  Jonathan Mackett also had a very good meet with ever-improving personal best times.

In addition Adam, Daniel and Miranda all won the Top Boy/Girl trophies for their respective age-groups.

Congratulations to all these swimmers!
