Speedy Swimmers at the Sprints!
Fourteen of our swimmers competed in the Barnet Copthall Winter Sprint Meet on 31st January and were richly rewarded with 35 personal best swims between them and medals and records galore.
Several children were multiple medallists. Nick Michel was in outstanding form with 4 gold medals from the 4 races he competed in. Rebecca Mackett was a triple gold medallist, as was Christopher Cox, who also added a silver to his collection. Miranda Willis won a full set with a gold, a silver and 2 bronzes whilst Daniel Schindler won a gold in 50m freestyle (setting an impressive meet record) and a bronze. Michael Fernandes also took gold in the 50m freestyle, lowering his time even further to break his own club record again. Chloe Simmons had a very worthwhile meet with 3 silver medals. Several junior records tumbled – 3 to Miranda, 2 to Christopher and 1 to Michael.
