SWIMMERS EXCEL AT WATFORD 'ALTERNATIVE NATIONALS' OPEN MEET
Nick Michel led the way at this well run gala gaining 3 silver medals and a bronze medal. Chloe Simmons swam to victory in the 14 year olds 100m butterfly and also gained 2 bronze medals. Molly Missah swam well in butterfly, backstroke and freestyle gaining 3 silver medals.
Other medal winners were Rebecca Mackett (2 silver,1 bronze), Alfie Fox (1 silver, 1 bronze), Daniel Schindler (2 bronze) and Kimia Baradaran, Maddie Simmons and Georgina Brown, each with a bronze medal. Maddie Simmons made a 24 second improvement on her entry time in the 400 m individual medley.
Kate Peters had an excellent swim in the 100m backstroke to record a PB and a county qualifying time. Isabella Mattey also competed well and in a very fast 50m freestyle heat gained a PB of 37.37, over 3 and half seconds faster than her previous best time, and a county qualifying time.
